When it comes to your love life, do you feel like you're going nowhere? You're not the only one, either. There are a lot of women I've met who seem to be running around in circles. They don't know why they keep finding themselves in the same Match.com Reviews predicament over and over again.
I like to refer to this as the Merry-Go-Round-Syndrome.Please note that I invented this term, not a medical one.)It occurs when you repeatedly find yourself in the same circumstance. It could be that you seem to be with men who constantly cheat on you, or it could be that no matter which man you get in a relationship with, it always ends in the same way.
One of my former clients, Melissa, couldn't figure out why she always seemed to be in a relationship with a man only to find out that the other woman was the one.She felt that this shouldn't be happening to her because she was beautiful and educated. We were able to identify her issue after a few sessions. The signs weren't important to Melissa.
Melissa didn't pay much attention to anything else he said when she met a man because she was so fascinated by his physical features. She would hear things from men like:
"I'm still in touch with the mother of my children, but it's complicated,"
"I'm going through the divorce process, but it's not over yet."
"I'm considering leaving my girlfriend because we're having problems together."
"I'm splitting up with my girlfriend, but I haven't moved out completely yet."
"It's difficult."
"I don't love her, but I'm just staying for the kids," I said.
We don't care what we do because we live together.
Melissa ignored all of the signs that would have indicated that this man had a partner. She always found herself in a situation where she was the other woman because she didn't pay attention.
In any case, how did Melissa triumph over the Match merry-go-round of being the other woman? To get off the Merry Go Round, the first thing you need to do is:
1.Think back on your previous relationships. What are their commonalities? All of the men in Melissa's situation were not single, and they told her so, but she ignored them. She was also very shallow and only cared about the physical qualities of each man.
2.Learn from your error.Melissa needed to learn to pay attention to the warning signs.Don't go any further than saying hello if a man says he's with someone. He doesn't have the right to call you, take you out to dinner, or visit your home.
3.Thank you for the lesson.Be thankful that you were able to learn from your mistakes rather than feeling sorry for yourself and unthankful.
4.Forgive.Melissa was constantly blaming herself and calling herself stupid for what had happened.Everybody makes mistakes. Therefore, forgive both yourself and the other person instead of beating yourself up.
5.Go on.I am so proud to say that Melissa moved on after she Match.com learned her lesson and forgiven both herself and the men she dated.
